Merging Nature with Design: Shelby Farms Party
A setting with fresh air, lush greenery and nature, and a vivid sunset is the perfect combination for a refreshing corporate employee event. Working with On the Mark Event Consulting, we wanted to provide a clean atmosphere, mixing avocados and earthy browns to compliment the modern design of the FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms. The pops of green against the glass event center windows set a Zen tone and created an aesthetically-pleasing backdrop for a calm evening by the lake.
The event took place just as the sun was touching the horizon. With a patio area near the edge of Hyde Lake, guests entered a space of tranquility and reflection.
Market lighting was strung across the runners' path to provide ambient lighting once the sun had set. Below the lighting we arranged Walden outdoor club chairs and ottomans, Verona coffee tables on top of the Marrakech rug for guests who wished to lounge by the lake.
Bordering the patio, we were thrilled to debut our short, portable boxwood hedges built in house by White Door Events production team using white wood with a beveled design. The hedges created a separation between the covered patio and outdoor lounge.
The leaves from the hedges harmonized with the avocado jute linens covering the high boy tables. We added walnut saddle seats, Walden outdoor club chairs, avocado jute pillows, a fire pit and heaters for creating a comfortable space for guests to mingle.
Since the event would be taking place at sunset we decided to place glass mercury lanterns between the hedges to produce a stunning reflection from the setting sun.
As guests entered the transparent tent, they were met by a red and green floral centerpiece by Le Fleur elegantly placed beneath a Stanford iron chandelier. We added more market lights atop the tent, providing the perfect dimly lit ambiance to pair with the warmth of the sun and the avocado and tan color palette.
Tying in with the theme were two Eastwood bars in the corner of the tent surrounded by an assortment of vines playing to the natural and rustic color palette.
